The Conference Call season preview

College football is getting underway, and for the WV Conference things are a little different. Well for starters, the conference is dissolving and reforming into a new all-sports conference called The Mountain East Conference. The new conference will begin play starting next year, and are made up of nine schools from West Virginia, two from Ohio and one from Virginia. I spoke with Shepherd University Athletic Director BJ Pumroy and he explained how all this came about.
Those schools making the Mountain East are The University of Concord, The University of Charleston, Fairmont State University, Glenville State University, Shepherd University, West Virginia State University, West Liberty, Wheeling Jesuit, and West Virginia Wesleyan. The two Ohio schools are Notre Dame College and Urbana College. The Virginia school is the University of Virginia of Wise. Well since they do still have to play, all week we’ll be previewing the football seasons of the nine West Virginia school.
