I have been working at Prettyman Broadcasting since 2010, doing a little bit of everything, but my passion is Sports! I graduated from Shepherd University in 2010, with a degree in Mass Communications and New Media. I hosted a sports radio show there for 3 years. I love sports writing too, so expect some fun articles on this blog. I love talking NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA. Make sure you comment on the blogs too, because I love discussing sports. Super Bowl XLVIII Preview
by Pietro DiSante Jr.,posted Jan 28 2014 3:55PM
It is finally here! Super Bowl XLVIII! The match-up could not be better either, as we have Russell Wilson and the NFC's #1 Seed Seattle Seahawks taking on Peyton Manning and the AFC's #1 Seed Denver Broncos! Live from Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ! Many fans thought this had a great chance of being the Super Bowl at the beginning of the season, and they were right. These are the two best teams in the NFL, and on Sunday we will crown the best team. I am going to go through, unit by unit, and tell you which team has the edge:
Quarterback: Easy one here. No doubt Russell Wilson has had an impressive start to his NFL career, but Peyton Manning might be the best quarterback in NFL history. He is definitely in the discussion. EDGE: BRONCOS.
Running Back: Knowshon Moreno has been really good for the Broncos this season, but Beast Mode himself Marshawn Lynch is one of the best running backs in the NFL. His touchdown in the NFC Championship Game is all you need to know about him. EDGE: SEAHAWKS.
Wide Receiver: Seattle has some good receivers, including: Golden Tate and an X-Factor in Percy Harvin, but the Broncos are beyond stacked with talent. Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Wes Welker, and Julius Thomas are tough to defend. If any team can do it, it would be Seattle though. EDGE: BRONCOS.
Offensive Line: Both teams have pretty good offensive lines. Peyton Manning makes his better than it actually is though. The Seahawks offensive line is one of the better ones in all of football. EDGE: SEAHAWKS.
Defense: I was going to go through each unit of the defenses, but all of the edges go to the Seahawks. The Broncos have a really good defensive line, but their linebackers and secondary do not come even close to the Seahawks. Seattle has had the #1 ranked defense throughout the entire NFL season and nothing has changed. Yes, everyone is talking about Richard Sherman, but the entire Seahawks defense is fantastic. EDGE: SEAHAWKS.
Prediction: Okay, seems the edge goes to the Seattle Seahawks. They are the better overall team. However, the most important position in the NFL is quarterback. That edge goes to the Broncos, as does Super Bowl XLVIII. I am taking Peyton Manning and the Broncos, 27-20.
