Bowl Game Challenge

The WEPM College Bowl Challenge

Here’s how it works, Pete, George, Joe, Efren and Greg will pick a winner of the 35 bowl game schedule.

The scoring breaks down as such:

5 points for each correct game winner

1 bonus point for each exact final score

Example: WV-56 Syracuse 24, if I had those exact scores as the finals, that’s 2 pts on top of the 5 pts for having the correct winning team, a possible total of 7 pts.

For BCS games, the points double. 10pts for each correct game winner and 4 bonus pts for each exact score.

In the unlikely event of a tie, the tiebreaker will be who ever comes closest to the point total of the BCS Championship game without going over.

Here is a listing of all the bowl games, opponents, dates, times and locations!

Previewing The Weekend

Shapes up to be a a very good one. Yesterday I wrote about the NFL playoffs kicking off this weekend. so it is time to look at what else is coming up.

Friday looks like a good high school basketball game is to be had.. Features the Martinsburg Bulldogs and the Washington Patriots. Both teams are averaging over 70 points a game. With the Bulldogs ppg being 75.2 and the Patriots being 78.3. So if you like offense then this is your cup of tea! If you cannot make it to the Fieldhouse tomorrow night then Sports Radio has you covered with a 7pm pregame show.

Saturday is HUGE. Get to talk a little hockey here before I talk about what you really care about. USA is taking on Sweden at 8 am for the gold medal in the juniors tournament. I have watched a lot of this tournament as there has been no NHL hockey this season and have been overly entertained.Russia and Canada looked to be on a terror to take on one another this saturday. But it was not meant to be. As USA beat Canada 5-1 Thursday in the semis. And after losing a day before to Russia Sweden got sweet revenge and beat Russia 3-2 in a shootout. Sqaturday 8am i will have a cup of coffee and be in front of my television for that one!
West Virginia takes on Oklahoma at 4pm Saturday pregame here on Sports Radio 1340 is set for 3pm with the MetroNews Coliseum Countdown. This is the first Big XII game in basketball for the Mountaineers. Now you may say but George the Mountaineers played the Sooners on November 25th. While you would be right that was in the Old Spice Classic and was an exempt Big XII game. The Mountaineers ended up losing that game by a final of 77-70 in Florida. This Mountaineer team is hard to read. When Huggs comes on the postagme and is extremely frustrated what elses is there to say?
Guys (and gals) have a great weekend. enjoy the NFL playoffs world juniors hig school basketball and the Mountaineers if you can!
