NFL Week 2 Picks
Okay, Week 1 is in the books. I started out strong, going (11-5). My worst pick clearly was the Jaguars over the Chiefs. Turns out, the Jaguars would only score on a safety and lost 28-2. Hey, those games happen. The Chiefs are better than I thought too. I also missed both Monday Night Games as I took the Redskins and Chargers. I did take the Jets to defeat the Buccaneers. 98% of the country took Tampa Bay, which I still do not understand. Oh well.
Let's move on to Week 2!

New York Jets at New England Patriots
Hey, Geno Smith looked decent in his NFL debut. The Patriots are missing pretty much every offensive weapon they have. The Jets are playing this no respect card and I like it. They also need to try to get over that terrible Thanksgiving Game from 2012. At the very least, the Jets will cover the (+12.5) spread.

St. Louis Rams at Atlanta Falcons
I knew the Saints would take care of Atlanta last week, but this game is a close one too. I would not be shocked if the Rams pulled the upset.

San Diego Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles
Holy Chip Kelly offense Batman! I did not expect the Eagles to look how they did on Monday Night. They could be a playoff team.

Dallas Cowboys at Kansas City Chiefs
I can't go against the Chiefs 2 weeks in a row, but I kinda want to. I'll give them the home win over the Cowboys though. Should be a good game.

Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts
2012 Rookie QB's going at it this week when Ryan Tannehill takes on the much superior Andrew Luck. The game will be close though. I like Miami's defense.

Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans
Texans are back on their usual regular season roll!

Washington Redskins at Green Bay Packers
The Redskins and Packers both lost close ones Week 1. Green Bay is at home so they get the edge. Not the start the Redskins were hoping for in 2013.

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens
Everyone in the AFC North is (0-1). The Ravens get the division's first win.

Carolina Panthers at Buffalo Bills
I am taking the Bills, but don't the Panthers have to win this game? How much more can Cam Newton lose? He has talent.

Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
Jay Cutler showed up last week against a hyped Bengals team, now he takes on the league MVP. Look for the Bears to get to (2-0).

New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Darrelle Revis will make his home debut, but Drew Brees will stop by to ruin it. Hopefully Darrelle loves money more than winning, because that is what he got in Tampa.

Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals
I want to change my pick here. I took the Lions, but I want to switch to the Cardinals. True toss up game. Reggie Bush is who I thought he would be. Will the Cardinals let him off the hook?

Jacksonville Jaguars at Oakland Raiders
Just kidding. I guess I will take the Raiders.

Denver Broncos at New York Giants
Peyton won the first two, might as well make it three. The Giants have a lot of issues. I think they will be able to keep it closer than the Ravens did last week though.

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks
Seattle squeaked by the Panthers last week, but we all remember what they did to San Francisco last season. I don't expect a repeat of that, but I do expect a win.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals
I had the Steelers winning the AFC North in my 2013 Preview. Now I am not sure what games they will actually win, let alone the division. Could be a tough year for Big Ben if he has no offensive line. I know they are playing the Bengals, but it is Ben who has the Hard Knocks life right now.

NFL Week 1 Picks:
Okay, I won't lie to you, a photo from the "Cat in the Hat" seems like an odd choice to start the 2013 NFL Season right? Well, for some reason that line from the movie came to my mind when I started making my predictions this week, so I went with it. If you want to have a good time, watch that movie. It is really funny. Unfortunately, I am not so sure it was meant to be that way. Okay, let's get to the picks!

Thursday Night Football:
Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos
We get a great playoff re-match to start the 2013 season. This time, I expect the home team to come out with the victory. Not just to open the season, but to end the season too, as I am picking the Broncos to win it all.

New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills
I would not be shocked to see the Bills pull off an upset, but I just don't see how either of their rookie quarterbacks can get the job done.

Tennessee Titans at Pittsburgh Steelers
People are not sold on the Steelers and I get why, but they should be able to take care of Jake Locker and the Titans to start the season. If they get on a nice little roll, anything can happen in Steeltown....even the Pirates making the playoffs.

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints
The Saints are back, baby! They have to prove it on Sunday though, as they take on last year's #1 seed from the NFC.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New York Jets
Mark Sanchez is OUT. Geno Smith is in. Darrelle Revis is starting his season on the same field as the Jets, just like he always has, with one difference: He is a Tampa Bay Buccaneer now. This is a toss up game, but I went with the home team. If you think this is worse than the "Cat in the Hat" picture, I don't blame you.

Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars
Wait a minute. I took the Jets, then the Jaguars? Hey, Week 1 usually does not go how you think it will in the NFL. The Jaguars are at home, and I think they can pull a mild upset over the Andy Reid-led Chiefs.

Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers
Everyone is loving the Seahawks, as am I, but you heard it here first: The Panthers will upset the Seahawks on Sunday. Cam Newton will show up and get the win. That is my gut feeling. Still, I am taking the Seahawks. What a whimp!

Cincinnati Bengals at Chicago Bears
We are having fun right? I like this game between the Bengals and the Bears. People are not considering it a potential Super Bowl match-up, but I could see it happening. I like Jay Cutler and the Bears, due to being at home, but it is really an evenly matched game. I think the Bengals are starting to get slightly overhyped, but they are a good team. I think their defense can carry them far, but I think Cutler can do enough to beat them this week.

Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns
The Dolphins are another overhyped team. Look for the Browns to get a win to start the season. I don't think the Dolphins are bad, but I think tbe Browns are better than people think.

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions
I am noticing that many of my picks are going against what happened in 2012. Still, it is a new year. I think the Lions and Vikings will be a high-scoring game. Reggie Bush will give the Lions the slight edge over Adrian Peterson and the Vikings. Disclaimer: I am in no way saying Reggie Bush is better than Adrian Peterson. I said he will get the Lions over the edge.

Oakland Raiders at Indianapolis Colts
Colts! Andrew Luck. Yeah!

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers
I have the Packers going to the Super Bowl, but I don't like this match-up. If it happens again in the playoffs, it could cause trouble for the Packers. Look for Aaron Rodgers to keep it close, but I will take the NFC Champs.

Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams
Could the Rams make a playoff push this year? Maybe. Maybe not. The Cardinals could too, but they are both in a tough division.

Sunday Night Football:
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
The Giants have never lost in the Cowboys new stadium, but the Giants might not have been this bad of a team since the stadium opened either. I think the Cowboys get the win.

Monday Night Football Double-Header:
Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins
RGIII is back and Skins fans are loving it. I love this match-up. It should be a close game. Chip Kelly and the Eagles have a few surprises for the Redskins, and the NFL in general.

Houston Texans at San Diego Chargers
The Chargers and Texans both want to improve on how their seasons ended last year. I think they both will too. Again, since it is Week 1, I give a slight edge to the home team.

Okay, there you have it! NFL Week 1 Picks. Now go watch some "Cat in the Hat", will ya!
