What a day of baseball yesterday! I got 3 of my 4 picks right and the one I missed was the A's who were down 3-1 with 1 out in the Bottom of the 9th and went on to score 3 runs and force a Game 5. So today we have 4 more MLB Playoff games. The Reds and Giants will also play a Game 5 today and the Nationals and Orioles are on the brink of elimination in
two Game 4's today. Can't wait!
Game 5: Giants at Reds (Series tied 2-2) 1:07 Start
Matt Cain vs. Mat Latos
Great pitching match-up, great teams, great series. Somebody has to win though. The Giants have the momentum, I think they pull off 3 straight road wins. I am taking Matt over Mat.
Game 4: Cardinals at Nationals (Cardinals lead series 2-1) 4:07 Start
Kyle Lohse vs. Ross Detwiler
Not liking this match-up for the Nationals. They have had a great season, but shutting down Strasberg ruined everything. I have been a person who was not in favor of the move. Even more so now, with these playoff results. The Nationals will give it their all today, but it might not be enough.
Game 4: Orioles at Yankees (Yankees lead series 2-1) 7:37 Start
Joe Saunders vs. Phil Hughes
Not sure where to go with this game. I expected each team to go back and forth and the Yankees win it in 5, but last night's game could be a killer (momentum wise) for the O's. Also, Ibanez could have given the Yankees a spark. Toss up. I'll say O's pull it off!
Game 5: Tigers at Athletics (Series tied 2-2) 9:37 Start
Justin Verlander vs. Jarrod Parker
Great series so far. A's magic last night was so fun to watch. Can the magic continue against one of the best pitchers in the league? Not sure. Verlander is great. It is up to Parker to not let the Tigers score and force this to go to the bullpens. Should be great. I say Tigers win, but I am wrong a lot.
Let's move on to the NFL! Week 6 Picks.
Should be another great week of action. Tonight the Steelers are at the Titans, but I am not sure how good the ratings will be with all this great baseball going on. I will definitely switch back and forth. Andrew Luck and the Colts had a big win at home vs. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. I am interested to see how both respond as the Colts travel to New York to take on Mark Sanchez and the Jets and the Packers travel to Houston for a potential Super Bowl Preview against the Texans. Pick time!
Thursday Night Football:
Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans
The Steelers have many injuries, but the Titans are just bad. We will see if Tennessee can take advantage of homefield during a short week though.
Sunday:
Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tough game here. Neither playing great. I'm going with the home team.
Indianapolis Colts at New York Jets
The Jets are getting Dustin Keller and Stephen Hill back this week. Hopefully it helps the offense. Colts are playing great, so it could be a good game.
Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns
The Browns are going to win this game! I have a feeling. Win #1 is on the way for Cleveland. Remember this Cleveland: You rock!
Detroit Lions at Philadelphia Eagles
Tough call here. Lions are playing bad, but they are better than everyone is saying right now. Philadelphia is hot and cold, drive to drive. I will take Philly because they are at home. I would take Detroit if the game was there.
Oakland Raiders at Atlanta Falcons
LOCK. Falcons move to (6-0)
St. Louis Rams at Miami Dolphins
Dolphins move to .500? I think so. I really do.
Dallas Cowboys at Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have the AFC North in the palm of their hand right now. Can't lose home games to the Cowboys. I see Dallas playing well though.
Buffalo Bills at Arizona Cardinals
This could be very wrong, but I am taking the Bills. Arizona looked pretty bad last week. Almost as bad as Buffalo, who lost 45-3. Wait. What? Okay, I am not sure now.
New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks
Tom Brady or Russell Wilson? Tom Brady.
GAME OF THE WEEK:
New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers
NFC Championship Re-match. Should be a great showdown. I think both teams are Super Bowl caliber this year. If San Francisco can beat Green Bay then New York, they officially prove they are the best in the NFC. (Despite Atlanta's 6-0 Start)
Minnesota Vikings at Washington Redskins
Not sure Adrian Peterson wants to play this game, but I think he will and he will be unstoppable. Vikings surprise the world by starting
(5-1).
Sunday Night Football:
Green Bay Packers at Houston Texans
The Jets almost beat the Texans. A solid effort from Aaron Rodgers should give Houston their first loss of the season.
Monday Night Football:
Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers
First 5 weeks, I have picked Peyton Manning's team. Despite being
(2-3), make it 6.
