Kaitlyn Mauck

Hey There!

I have been working at Prettyman Broadcasting since early in 2014 and am very excited to be working here. The broadcasting field (to me) is thrilling! Putting together stories, interviewing people in the community, operating the programs used to get the final product together as well as all the technical operations and DJing. I have also been working with The Martinsburg Journal's Weekender putting out simple articles about things going on around town. Although I don't particularly follow sports all that closely, you may often find me fangirling over Doctor Who, The Walking Dead and LoTR, or discussing local authors, movies or theater productions that may have things/be going on in our area.

If you would like to be featured - only on my blog, not on the radio, I'm not in charge of that - then feel free to email me at kaitlyn@prettymanbroadcasting.com

Stay tuned and feel free to follow me on any of the following;

When inspiration strikes a person they're inclined to express themselves in one way or another. Some break out in random song, some instantly need some paint and a clean canvas and others will put out an entire novel in the matter of a week. Personally, I write poetry. Something about inspiration fills me with the need to string words together in a rhyming fashion with phrases that stick in the mind and repeat themselves to the aimlessly wandering conscious. I tend to get inspired when one emotion outweighs all the others and needs to be heard, so, many of them are concerning, well, emotions. This is the most recent one I posted on this particular Tumblr page of mine:

Play Your Game
Roll the dice
And play your game
Tumbling cubes
Does that keep you sane?
Collect the cards
And spin the wheel
Is it adrenaline
Your stressed veins feel?
Pull the lever
Follow the lights
Stop the numbers
Pretend it's all right.
Drink after drink
Tingles down your throat
Go ahead and have more
Should I take your coat?
This game you play
Has stakes so high
Raise your hand up
You'll touch the sky!
But looking down
Creates that thrill
Electric blood
The urge to kill.
Do you have what it takes
To finish this round
Do you think you'll escape
Or stay tied to the ground?
The smartest thing
Would be to run
To chase your freedom
You won't come undone.
Imagine the sunlight
Relish spring time rain
At this rate you'll lose
And then go insane.

Enjoyed it? Then go check out my poetry blog, These Things I Write. If you didn't *shrug* cool beans. You do you and have a nice day. :)
