And hello to the world too since we're on the Internet. WEPM continues to find different outlets to allow its sports team to give you, the fan, more insight into our perspective, thoughts and at times our craziness. Our sports blogs will provide content on a wide range of topics not limited to only panhandle issues. With all that said, allow me to reintroduce myself.
My name is Efren Creamer. Pronounced F-ren. Kinda simple spelled out phonetically, huh? I'm 31 years old. I graduated from Jefferson High in 1999 and from Marshall University in 2004. I'm sure some of my analysis over the years makes sense now. Joking. I strive to remain as unbiased as humanely possible while on air. It's tougher than you may think. My daytime job is a sign language interpreter. I was born to two deaf adults, in case you're wondering how I learned a second language. I have a younger sister who is a teacher. I've been married just under 13 months and I have a 15 year old stepdaughter.
I've been working with WEPM since January 2005. It has been a fantastic journey covering all the major seasonal sports as well as the Olympic sports that compete throughout the school year. The level of athletics in the panhandle is as good as anywhere in West Virginia. And the level at which these athletes compete rises as the calendar turns.
I'm not too sure where this blog will lead us. I got into journalism to be a broadcast guy and not a print guy. But as the world gets smaller, the convergence of media is inevitable. We see print guys on TV, TV guys on radio and radio guys trying to fit in somewhere. I've been given close to carte blanche with what I can say or do with this blog. Let's find out how long I can make that last. I love to hear all your feedback, negative and positive, so drop an email to me at email@example.com whenever you read something that stirs a reaction.
