I have been with Sports Radio 1340 WEPM since June of 2009, I am the Program Director for the Station and the Play-by-Play voice as well and host In The Zone weekdays from 5P-6P. I have been in the Radio business for 22 years, following in the footsteps of my Dad. I got my start in Radio working overnights at WTNJ in my Senior Year of High School. I have had the pleasure of calling games for some great teams including the Oak Hill Red Devils, the Bluefield Beavers, the Shady Spring Tigers, and now the 5 schools here in the Panhandle. I have also have had the oppurtunity to call play-by-play for WVU Tech for 4 years in the late 90's. I will be blogging about alot of different sports stories that go on both nationally and locally so make sure to stop by often. You can also follow me on twitter @fredpersinger2 and if you have any comments please feel free to post or email me at email@example.com

As I watched the WVU game on Saturday night, as the game got to the point where it looked like the Mountaineers was going to hold on and get the win over Texas in Austin I started thinking how quick reports would start coming in about things going bad in Morgantown and it did not take long. I can understand about being excited about a big win but what happened after the game by some stupid people have now tainted what was a big win for WVU. Instead of talking about the game now we have to hear about fires, destruction of property and more, some reports say that the Morgantown Police ran out of pepper spray, this is a sad situation. The one thing that comes to mind is we hear it all the time of how players act after they score a touchdown, act like you have been there before, well I think the same should be said for some WVU fans who started this mess in Morgantown, act like you have been there before, Yes it was a big win but in the grand scheme of things it was a league win, that's it!! No national championship was on the line, no Big 12 Championship was on the line, it was a regular season win, that's it.
The bad thing is the majority of WVU fans handled it the right way, but the few have messed up any positive things that happened the week before in the Baylor game. It is amazing how quickly things change in a week.
This week WVU plays at Texas Tech, if WVU wins, please act like you have been there before, because this game is just as big for WVU as last week was, another league game.
